Trans Allegheny Trails (TAT)
Most do not know that Roaring Run Trail is part of this group. We are very fortunate to have such incredible riding for all levels of cyclist in our area! In July of 2011, the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy brought its annual Greenway Sojourn to a collection of trails within the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania. After working together to prepare for the RTC sojourn, the participating trail operators decided to continue their collaborative efforts. Before long, other trail operators joined them. The result is The Trans Allegheny Trails System. The ultimate goal of the Trans Allegheny Trails’ operators is to connect as many of our trails as possible into a continuous system. More information on Trans Allegheny Trails is available on their website. |
![]() Roaring Run Watershed is open year round for hiking and biking. There is no winter maintenance on the trail or any of the parking areas. Parking is at your own risk. Dogs are welcome at Roaring Run, however; -Dogs must be leashed on the rail trials -Owners are expected to clean up after their pets -All waste must be disposed of by the owner. The directors of Roaring Run would like to express sincere appreciation to everyone involved in making our watershed a destination for many hikers, bikers and boaters.
Thank You to our trail maintenance volunteers who spend much of their leisure time doing the critical work of improving and rehabilitating our trails. Thank You to the Roaring Run Rock Riders for their tireless efforts battling downed trees and knot weed to keep our network of hiking and mountain biking trails in tip top shape! Thank You to our sponsors and runners/ walkers/ riders of our major fundraising events. Your support helps to make these events possible. And most of all, Thank You to our members and the community who so generously support the RRWA. We are a small organization with a broad mission , and each contribution we receive is greatly appreciated ! Happy Trails! |
